Quinta da Marcela, nestled in the picturesque Vale de Mendiz within the Douro Valley, is home to the distinguished "Duas Árvores" wine brand. Founded by two lifelong friends with a deep passion for wine and a love for Portugal, this estate is dedicated to producing wines that honor tradition, care, and respect. The vineyards, enriched by schistose soils and a Mediterranean climate, yield grapes that are carefully crafted into wines that reflect the unique terroir and the meticulous attention of their creators.

The terroir of Quinta da Marcela is predominantly schistose, allowing the vine roots to delve deep into the soil in search of essential water and nutrients. This unique soil composition, coupled with the Mediterranean climate—characterized by distinct seasons, including cold, rainy winters and hot, dry summers—creates an ideal environment for grape cultivation. The diverse vineyard orientation, ranging from southeast to southwest and spanning altitudes between 100 and 500 meters, further enhances the complexity and variety of the grapes produced.

Quinta da Marcela celebrates Portugal’s rich heritage of indigenous grape varieties. The estate nurtures a wide array of varietals, including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, and many others, some from older vines that are over 30 years old, contributing to their wines' complexity and depth. In their state-of-the-art winery, modern technology meets tradition, with controlled fermentation processes and aging in French oak barrels, ensuring that each bottle of "Duas Árvores" wine reflects the meticulous craftsmanship and rich character of the Douro Valley.
